Carnation Motifs

This collection features a selection of Tatreez motifs depicting Carnation flowers. In Arabic, Carnations are known as Qrunful, a term that directly translates to Cloves in English. Hence, you'll notice an interchange between Clove and Carnation to signify the same floral representation.

Carnations hold a significant place among popular native flowers in Palestine. They were among the flowers exported from Palestine. This beautiful flower was said to have been used for indoor decorations, adorning window sills, or planting in the vicinity of homes. Present across all regions of Palestine, each area contributed its unique variation to the Carnation motif, which is highlighted in this collection.
